Christian Mendez is a Democratic Socialist whose life experience has shaped his ideals and political stances.

Christian was born in Los Angeles and raised in Orange County. His parents are immigrants from Mexico and El Salvador. Their struggles gaining residency gave Christian an insight into America’s broken immigration system.

Despite their troubles gaining residency, Christian’s parents helped him become the first in his family to attend/graduate from College and Graduate School. He studied Economics in Undergrad and went on to study Data Science in Graduate School.

Despite following the traditional “path to success,” Christian would continue to see the struggles of every day working class citizens. In 2023, Christian’s father died to lung cancer. His father was unable to get effective treatment due to a lack of affordable Health Insurance. A month later, his mother was forced out of her home of 15 years by a new landlord under false-pretenses.

Christian himself would then be laid-off by Boeing in 2024 but luckily gained employment quickly.

Despite all the hardships, Christian believes that nothing can stop him. He has hope for a better future not just for himself but for all Americans.

He is someone that will never cave, never break and is willing to do whatever it takes to get Americans what they deserve. If he has to break laws to get you free healthcare, he will do it. If he has to die to give you your freedom, he will do it in a heartbeat.
